Gherdon Beta is the companion-body to Gherdon Alpha, and the smaller of the two. Gherdon Beta is dominated by oceans of highly mineral-saturated brine. Deep-sea volcanic mountains dominate the sea-bed. Gherdon Alpha (the larger) and Gherdon Beta (the smaller) orbit each other, with a barycenter extending outside the atmospheres of either.

Gherdon Beta and Gherdon Alpha have overlapping galaxy stone belts. Both have galaxy emeralds and galaxy spinnels, while Gherdon Beta alone has Galaxy Pearls.

Chemical Composition[]

The atmosphere of Gherdon Beta is around 60% hydrogen, 20% oxygen, 10% water vapor, and 8% chlorine, the rest being traces of bromine trifluoride and other gases. The air pressure on Gherdon Beta isaround 5x that of earth's. The surface is usually overcast or under the massive storms that are so common.

The brine-oceans of Gherdon beta make up about 8% of the distance from outer atmosphere to the core, and so the bottom is covered in a surface of ice V interlaced with salts and other minerals. The oceans contain 87% water, 4% sodium-chloride, 3% lithium bromide, 2.8% potassium bromide, 2% lithium chloride, and 0.7% silica, the rest being other miscellaneous salts and minerals.

The Ice V is layered with bands of salts and minerals that have come out of solution onto the surface, on top of which more ice V has formed. This layer exists in tectonic plates that slide, rift, and collide into salty mountain-ranges.

Beneath the layers of Ice V and crystalized salts is actual rock, made up of silicon dioxide, as well as sodium, lithium, potassium, rubidium, etc. metal deposits. This layer also rifts, slides and collides, and often subducts the plate of mineral ice with it into the molten core.

The molten interior of Gherdon Beta is mostly quartz until the molten alkali metals are reached. At the core, solid metal can be found due to pressure.
